This flower is in the Hibiscus genus, which is in the Malvaceae family.
This is Begonia nelumbiifolia, a member of the Begoniaceae family. All members of the Begonia family are in the Begonia genus except for the single species in Hillebrandia. Begonias are popular as houseplants, because many of the species have colorful, impressive leaves.
