The Japanese drink Amacha is made from the fermented leaves of the endless summer hydrangea, Hydrangea macrophylla. The possibility of anti-malarial drugs using leaf extract is also being investigated.[x]
A member of the Hydrangea genus, which contains about 70 species.
This is the Mophead Hydrangea, in the Hyrdrangeaceae family. Its scientific name is Hydrangea macrophylla, and it is sold under the name ‘Endless Summer.’
